With the lure of Afro Cuban Rhythms, City Hall in Santa Monica was the destination of the day. Bobby Matos and his Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble - would prove to be capable of delivering those allusive Rhythms and spicing things up just enough to not overshadow the Serrano laced Sangria that was flowing freely.
Joined by some good friends, Bobby and Tamika and their 2 kids Ava and Quincy - we settled in for the 1st set and enjoyed a nice mixture of tempos and beats.
Due to limited funding the Jazz on the lawn series was cut short and lasted only 2 weeks but on an otherwise quiet Sunday by the Beach a free outdoor concert is always a good choice.
